The lime green floral pre-draped saree

This one is not a costume. It is not an event look either — no red carpet, no launch, no stage. It is a studio shoot against a plain charcoal wall, and we could not establish an occasion for it, so we are not inventing one. What we can tell you is exactly what she is wearing, because the label put the whole thing on its own website.

The saree is Aayushi Maniar's GLOWTINI, and that is the brand's own listing talking, not a caption we found somewhere: a pre-draped sari in crepe silk with a georgette blouse, hand-embroidered, colour listed as Lime, three pieces in the box, ₹34,491, made to order on eighteen working days.

Look at the ground colour first, because it is the whole look. It is not bottle, not olive, not mint — it is chartreuse, a yellow-green that reads almost acid under a warm key light. Over it runs a dense, ordered print of small coral-pink four-petal flowers with a deeper pink eye, laid out in rows with tiny four-dot squares tucked between them. It is a geometric print pretending to be a floral, and the scale is the thing your eye reads before anything else: the motif is barely larger than a rupee coin, repeated hundreds of times down the drape.

Scattered across the pleats and along the edge of the pallu are flat round gold mirror discs, stitched on singly rather than in a border. In movement they are the only thing on the saree that catches light. The pallu finishes in a scalloped edge with a row of small pink bobbles.

The blouse is the same lime, sleeveless, cut with a scooped, softly sweetheart neckline, and covered in tonal gold thread work with sequins worked through it — a jaal rather than a motif, so the gold sits over the whole bodice instead of at the neck. A band of gold sequins finishes the hem.

Over the drape, at the natural waist, a broad gold zari belt with a scalloped bottom edge. It is the third piece of the brand's set, not something added afterwards, and it is what stops the pre-draped silhouette reading as a dress.

The earrings are hers, not the label's: big oxidised silver hoops hung from a small floral stud, a tiny figure suspended inside the ring, and a fringe of silver ghungroo bells around the lower rim.

Nothing else is on this page, and that is on purpose. Not one frame in the footage goes below the knee, so we have no idea what she has on her feet and there is no shoe card here. There is no bag, no necklace, no bangle. There is a plain ring on her right hand in a couple of frames — visible, and left off, because it never resolves enough to name the metal.

One thing worth knowing about where these pictures come from. Somewhere in the middle of the clip we found this in, the footage cuts to a different woman entirely in the same saree: fair, straight hair, pearl studs, a maroon curtain behind her. That is Aayushi Maniar's own campaign model, and those frames are the label's catalogue photography. None of them are on this page.
