A true white, not the cream most gold-bordered sarees come in — which is the first thing anyone checks against her. Narrow gold zari border down the length, a broad band of gold at the pallu end, and an unstitched blouse piece in white with a gold border, so the gold-cuffed blouse she wears can be cut from the same cloth. The seller even styles it that way. The honest differences: her pallu ends in framed rectangular panels of gota work where this has a plain wide zari band; her border has a fine black-and-white piping along it and this one does not; there is no embroidered motif for the sleeve; and this is a matte silk-cotton, where hers is raw silk with a soft sheen.
