The Chocolate Martini belted midi

This one is not a costume. It is what Trisha Krishnan wore to the grand opening of KST Spice Corner's new store at Marsden Park in Sydney on 18 July 2026 — a shop launch, not a film event — and it is one garment plus one stack of bangles.

We can name the real dress, and it is checkable rather than guessed: it is the Forever New "Amelia Layered A-Line Midi Dress" in the colourway the brand calls Chocolate Martini. The seller's own product page is on screen in the clip the look was traced from, showing the name, the colourway and the price — AU$139.99, marked down from a full price about a third higher, with the sale ending on 20 July 2026. Forever New's own store lists it at R2,199 in South Africa. Forever New sells in India too, so it is worth looking for there, but we could not confirm an Indian price for this exact colourway and are not going to invent one. The two pieces below are lookalikes, and each says where it differs.

The dress is a matte chocolate-brown crepe. Sleeveless, with a plain crew neckline — no collar, no lapel, nothing at the shoulder. A run of small domed gold-tone buttons goes down the centre front from the throat all the way to the hem. At the natural waist there is a self-fabric belt in the same cloth, punched with small eyelets and fastened with a large flat oval gold buckle, and that buckle is the single most recognisable thing in the whole look — it is what you would search for if you were trying to find this dress from a photograph. Below the belt the bodice ends in a short peplum layer that sits over the skirt, and the skirt itself is a full A-line that swings out and falls to mid-calf. Princess seams shape it front and back rather than darts.

A word on the colour, because it looks like two different dresses depending on which photograph you saw. The outdoor stage at the opening was lit through a pink marquee, and under it the dress reads deep maroon or oxblood — that is the version most people have seen. The indoor footage from the same day, under neutral light, shows what it actually is: a warm chocolate brown. The brand photography agrees with the indoor footage. Our cards are matched to the true colour, not the pink-lit one.

She wears three slim gold bangles stacked on one wrist — one plain polished flat band, one with a fine milled or beaded edge, one thinner again — plus a wide gold ring. The bangles are clear enough to describe, so they are listed. Hers are almost certainly real gold; ours is a gold-plated lookalike and is priced like one. The ring never resolves properly and is not listed, because guessing at somebody's own jewellery is the fastest way to get a page like this wrong.
